The ideal candidate MUST come from the restaurant industry, be used to extended working hours and must be flexible and adaptable.Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: -Opening and / or closing of the kitchenMaintaining all health, safety and hygiene standardsAllocation of duties for prep and cooking dutiesManagement of staff - basic BCEA controlsStock control - maintaining portion / wastage and spoilage controlOrdering of stock - receiving and checkingStock rotation and management of expiry datesFood cost and food cost controlRunning the pass - plating and garnishingGeneral administration associated with kitchen within a restaurant including weekly stock counts / food and staff cost control Qualifications:Matric and / or culinary diplomaFully computer literate - MS Office & POSFluent in English and Afrikaans5 years minimum within a senior position within a restaurant industryValid Driver's License and own reliable vehicleCompetencies:Physically fit - ability to work extended hoursKeeps abreast of culinary trendsExperience within Bistro style diningAbility to deal with volume dining (a la carte)Flexible and adaptableExcellent communicationProblem solvingInnovativeAttention to detailFinancial acumenHands on and leads by example We are a generalist recruitment company based in the heart of the Garden Route in the Southern Cape.
