Sous Chef - George

New Restaurant opening in George is looking for a Sous Chef.
Responsibilities:
Reports directly to the Head Chef / owners
Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks to the rest of the Junior kitchen team members
Cooking and preparing high quality dishes in accordance with the companies' standard recipes
Assisting the Head Chef / Owners to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes
Supervising all kitchen stations & daily set ups in accordance with the Company's kitchen standards
Supervising, motivating and working closely with other all other Chefs of all levels
Being responsible for health and safety in accordance with the companies set requirements & training course provided
Being responsible for food hygiene practices & assisting the Head chef with the monthly audits
Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created as per the set recipe spec
Assisting with determining food inventory (stock) needs, stocking and ordering with approval of the Head chef
Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge plus those around you
Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes within the company
Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work ensuring that all our guests receive the very best standards at all times
Requirements:
Matric
Formal qualification
Minimum 2 years relevant experience
Competent level of English spoken and written
Enthusiastic about self-development and embracing opportunities to improve skills & knowledge
A reliable, quick thinking, creative person
Good knowledge of all sections
Ability to produce good quality food
Good oral communication
Team management skills
High level of attention to detail
Good level of numeracy
