Safari JOBS is searching for a Sommelier for a world-renowned 5* safari property situated in a prime area of Mpumalanga.
Responsibilities:
Provide a consistent and bespoke wine experience for guests.
Responsible for stock control in line with the establishment's Standard of Excellence and SOP.
Pair specific wines according to the menu and guest stylistic preference.
Host wine tastings and make wine recommendations.
Manage cellar stock control and physical transfer of wine.
Communicate continuously with departmental teams to ensure guest needs are met.
Handle sales, invoicing, stock, and other relevant administration.
Train and develop staff at various lodges.
Minimum Requirements:
Clear criminal record and excellent employment track record.
Sommelier qualification, such as Cape Wine Diploma or similar.
Basic international wine course, WSET level 3.
Previous experience in hospitality/guest interactions and service.
Good computer literacy - MS Office, MS Project is advantageous.
Excellent email etiquette and strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, particularly in building and maintaining sound working relationships.
Salesmanship, leadership, and management skills.
Passion for wine and sound knowledge of wine.
Stamina, resilience, and physically able to transfer wine or work long hours where needed.
Organized with excellent admin skills.
Team player with a developmental approach to staff.
Neat, professional, and approachable presentation.
Valid Driver's License.

Compensation:
CTC. NEG. DOE & Qualifications: Please advise your minimum salary expectation upon application.

Work cycle: 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off + annual leave of up to a maximum of 24 days.
