About the JobAs a rapidly growing forward-thinking solar energy company, NEOSUN is extending its Engineering & Construction team in South Africa and seeking a solar industry Site Engineer for maintaining C&I and residential projects in South Africa within international standards and local requirements.
Area Of ResponsibilityProject Planning and PreparationConduct initial site surveys and assessments.Develop detailed project plans, including timelines and milestones.Coordinate with project stakeholders and team members to ensure alignment on project goals.Design and DocumentationDesign Solar PV and Battery Storage systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations.Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).Manage and maintain accurate engineering documentation.Procurement and LogisticsIdentify and procure the correct equipment and materials for each project.Select preferred installers and subcontractors based on qualifications and project requirements.Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials to the site.Supervise the installation of Solar PV and Battery Storage systems to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.Establish daily milestones and guide the installation team to meet them.Ensure the installation is performed by qualified personnel and always prioritize safety.Manage on-site activities to maintain a clean and organized work environment.Quality Assurance and ControlConduct regular inspections to ensure the quality and integrity of the installation.Implement quality assurance and quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during installation.Commissioning and HandoverOversee the commissioning process to ensure the system is fully operational and meets performance standards.Provide comprehensive training and documentation to the client for system operation and maintenance.Ensure client satisfaction by addressing any concerns and providing post-installation support.Project Management and ReportingMonitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time completion.Communicate project progress and status updates to stakeholders regularly.Manage project budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial goals.Safety and ComplianceEnsure all site activities comply with local safety regulations and best practices.Promote a culture of safety among the installation team and enforce safety protocols.Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for site personnel.RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you should have:
3-5 years of experience in maintaining solar C&I and residential projects.Technical education related to engineering or relevant fields.Practical experience in solar system design and modeling.Proven ability to defend design solutions during expert examinations.Knowledge of the regulatory framework governing solar projects.Experience in interacting with energy supply organizations.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel.Familiarity with tools such as PVSyst and PVGIS.Strong team-working skills, initiative, and result orientation.Fluency in English.ConditionsWhat you will get from joining our team:
