A well known and established client in East London is looking for a Solar Supervisor (Installer) to join their team!
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Solar Installer / Supervisor to join our team. This role involves overseeing the installation of solar energy systems, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with solar installations, a strong understanding of electrical systems, and proven leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Installation Oversight: Supervise and lead a team of solar installers to ensure the successful installation of solar panels, inverters, and related equipment.
Ensure that installations are performed according to technical specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
Project Management: Plan and coordinate installation schedules, resources, and workflows to meet project deadlines.
Conduct site assessments and prepare detailed installation plans, including system layout and equipment placement.
Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on installation support, including mounting solar panels, wiring, and connecting systems to electrical grids.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the installation process.
Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure installations meet company standards and customer expectations.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including photos, reports, and system testing results.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed on-site to prevent accidents and injuries.
Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for the installation team.
Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to address any questions or concerns during the installation process.
Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish.
Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior installers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Evaluate team performance and provide feedback to support professional development.
Inventory and Equipment Management: Manage and oversee the use of installation tools, equipment, and materials.
Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition and report any malfunctions or needs for repair.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in solar installation.
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness on the job.

Qualifications:

Technical certification or degree in electrical systems, renewable energy, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar installation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of solar panel systems, electrical wiring, and installation techniques. Familiarity with local building codes and regulations is essential.
SAPVIA qualification are highly desirable.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions, lift heavy equipment, and perform physically demanding tasks.
