Industry: Electricity, Energy & Water Supply Job category: Energy and Power Engineering Location: Bedfordview Contract: Fixed Term Contract Remuneration: Market Related Introduction The Solar PV Project Manager will be managing and be responsible for Solar PV projects from development phase to handover phase, he will assisting with business development requirements and engineering focused on continual improvement of the company's operations and efficiencies. Key Performance Indicators: Establish project control plan & Procedures and Project Execution Plan for the projects Identify and develop project control team to manage the required tasks Coordination & necessary follow ups with Engineering, procurement & Construction team for various project affairs Take lead in Project Risk Management plan, periodic reviews and mitigation plans Prepare delay analysis, time impact analysis, EOT as needed during the project tenure Single point coordination with client for all project control affairs Identify critical path/critical activities and escalate for timely actions Prepare presentations to various management meetings Participate in all internal/client/vendor progress meetings Ensure all client reports are submitted on timely manner Monitor subcontractor mobilization and performance to ensure the planned progress of works Monitoring and analysing the project progress, efficiency, consumption of mobilized resources. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage scheduled project meetings, milestone assessments, and contractor claims. Facilitate Solar PV Contractors in delivering successful projects throughout the entire project cycle. Site visits and quality inspections during feasibility and construction phases. Represent the company in contract negotiation and supplier due diligence. Manage projects as the Principal Agent working with client-appointed Quantity Surveyors, Architects and Structural Engineers. Ensure the design is executed in accordance with the contracts in place, with the project specifications and in compliance with construction good practices, local rules and standards. Detailed design interrogation, drawings, calculations, datasheets, procedure and documentation for the project provided. Develop lessons learned and return on experience. Contract Management - EPC tender design, coordination, management, evaluation and review. Monitor and report on PV projects through the construction and operational phases. Provide technical engineering support on PV projects at all stages of the Project Development cycle Competency Profile Attributes: Intellectually bright and skilled in client management and persuasive communication. Technically strong and able to inspire the confidence of the client and manage the relationship with the technology supplier/partner. Proficient financial reporting ability and knowledge. Able to facilitate decision-making / be decisive at executive level and interact extensively with senior executives. Strategic thinker that is determined to implement agreed strategies. Resilient, stress tolerant and assertive. Mature, participative management style that embraces the support of the team to achieve objectives Qualification: Technical qualification (B/Bsc Eng or B Tech) or PMP Certification.Eligible to register with the Engineering Council of South Africa.Registered with a certified Project Management Body e.g. Project Management Institute (PMI), The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPMP) Skills & Experience: Minimum 3 -5 years of experience working on Solar Projects within a Project Engineering or Management Capacity.Experience in Project Budgeting & SchedulingExperience in the Design of solar PV energy systems.Project contracts managementClient liaising and relationship managementStrong leadership skills.Ability to work well under pressure.Ability to drive and meet deadlines.
