Job Description
We are looking for a self-motivated draughtsman who is passionate about renewable energy and can work alongside the engineering team to create detailed drawings from the engineers' designs. This includes detailing of civil and mechanical components of the various projects. Knowledge in the electrical discipline will be advantageous. The scope will include inverter station/building design and component layouts, solar module layouts and cable routing details to mention a few.
From time to time, you will get to assist the engineering team with completing designs of the renewable energy systems which you would then manage.
An in-depth understanding, and staying up to date with drafting tools available, optimizing efficiency.
Responsibilities and Duties
Use AutoCAD design software to create 2D and 3D technical drawings.
Liaise with engineers to gather requirements for the designs.
Calculate dimensions and material requirements.
Edit technical draughts based on the recommendations of project engineers.
Employed as a draughtsperson / designer, or directly associated with draughting / design in a professional capacity, for a minimum period of 2 years.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
Create detailed designs using AutoCAD design software.
The ability to work with multiple disciplines of projects.
The ability to work with multiple engineers across multiple projects in parallel.
Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Attention to detail.
Grade 12 certificate or Technical N3 Matric Certificate, and
A minimum of a N4 / N 5 Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice (MDDOP) National Certificate, or equivalent qualification
