Solar Project Engineer

Job Description
One of South Africa's first IPPs with technical teams across the world is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg.
Minimum Requirements:

BEng/BSc/BTech in Electrical/Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
Relevant work experience of 3 - 5 years
Ability to work independently, collaborating with the European technical team
Knowledge of the South African REIPPP program
Knowledge of procurement processes

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Undertake technical aspects of project development

Liaise with technical team in Europe to assess project opportunities and develop engineering aspects, including solar yield analyses and preliminary project designs
Co-ordinate site studies and local engineering aspects of project development
Develop grid connection solutions for projects
Establish provisional costings for engineering aspects of projects


Prepare technical documentation for tender submissions

Solar yield analysis
Grid connection
Plant design & engineering
EPC costing
Project schedules


Develop local procurement processes

Develop supplier database and establish supplier relationships
Develop standard enquiry/tender documentation
Liaise with EPC costing team in Europe to develop detailed project costings
Confirm detailed Scope of Work / Bill of Quantities to be put out on enquiry
Co-ordinate actual enquiry events
