About the job: Our client is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their team as a Solar Designer/Planner in the solar energy industry.
The ideal candidate will have experience using Excel, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or related software for drafting and planning purposes within the solar energy sector.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity and attention to detail.
Responsibilities: Effective and efficient utilization of software programs such as Helioscope, AutoCAD or related software.
Designing and planning detailed technical drawings for solar energy projects.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop project proposals, incorporating technical drawings, equipment specifications, and cost estimates.
Review and analyse project requirements, specifications, and client needs to ensure proposals are accurately tailored to meet customer expectations.
Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including technical specifications, material lists and installation manuals.
Support the project team throughout the bidding process, providing technical expertise and responding to client inquiries.
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to designing and planning solar energy systems.
Participate in internal meetings, project reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance departmental processes and procedures.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
3+ Years related experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD software for 2D and 3D drafting, with a strong understanding of drafting principles and techniques.
Experience in designing and planning with the solar industry is preferred but not required.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to review technical documents and identify discrepancies or opportunities for improvement.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Enthusiasm for renewable energy and a commitment to promoting sustainable solutions in the field of solar engineering.
Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings as needed.
