Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and innovative Solar Design & Product Support Engineer to lead the design and support of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including building-integrated PV (BIPV) and PV-hybrid systems. This role requires a deep understanding of the solar market, end-user needs, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar and renewable energy engineering design, as well as a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Key ResponsibilitiesSolar System & Project Design:Lead the design of solar PV systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.Develop and define technically and economically feasible applications by performing preliminary engineering/design and project metering.Optimize equipment designs for cost reduction and operational improvements.Create detailed design drawings, including electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, site plans, and equipment layouts.Project Support & Execution:Provide technical and engineering support for the successful implementation of solar projects.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver all elements of solar EPCs or mini-grid installations.Provide subject matter expertise to the Operations Manager and Sales Engineers, offering technical specifications and inputs for tender scope development.Product Management:Identify and select new products for the solar and BESS systems industry.Test and evaluate products prior to adding them to the product line, ensuring they meet certification requirements.Design Innovation:Stay abreast of industry innovations and technological advancements in the solar/BESS industry.Test or trial new innovations, ensuring they are successfully certified and introduced to keep the company at the cutting edge of technology.Key Performance IndicatorsDeliver fit-for-purpose PV systems that meet end-user expectations.Implement clean, consistent, and efficient designs with minimal site changes.Ensure timely and professional submission of RFIs, RFQs, and tender documents.Qualifications & ExperienceEngineering degree or diploma in electrical engineering or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in solar and renewable energy engineering design, with a focus on Solar PV and BESS systems.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines.Experience in energy generation data analysis, virtual PPAs, green tariffs, and wholesale energy markets.Proficiency in computer literacy, including MS Office Suite, SAP ERP Systems, and job-specific software.Core CompetenciesHigh attention to detail and critical thinking skills.Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Proactive, action-oriented, and adaptable.
