Our client in the health sector is seeking a Software Testing Engineer in Cape Town for a hybrid position. This opportunity entails a 1-year contract.
As a Software Test Engineer, you'll contribute to the development of enterprise-level software aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the province, with a focus on managing person-level health data. This pivotal role involves collaborating with a diverse team to build reliable, interoperable, and open-source software solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate test design, documentation, and strategies based on business requirements.
Ensure software components meet quality standards and business needs.
Drive quality control and test plan execution in agile sprints.
Identify areas of code quality improvement and work with the team to address them.
Maintain and enhance automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium Webdriver, DB plugins, mock services, Playwright, etc.).
Enhance software delivery processes based on agile principles and best practices.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Information Systems, Informatics, Computer Science, or equivalent qualification; advanced ISTQB Certification is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software testing within software development teams.
Proficiency in MS SQL Server and data access methods, SQL, and database technologies (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL), including familiarity with Stored Procedures.
Experience in setting up and maintaining automated testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium WebDriver, mock services, and Playwright.
Knowledge of testing web services, including XML, JSON, REST, and WCF.
Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and their application in small software team environments, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
