We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineering Team Lead!
In this role, you will lead, develop, and support a team of software engineers to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.
You'll work closely with the Domain Head, Product Owner, and Architect of the Remittances & Payments domain to ensure the team understands their priorities and deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes: You love working with people, and seeing them grow and succeedYou have experience in a people leadership role, coaching, mentoring and developing teams, with a proven track record of delivering results through othersExperience working with agile methodologies – a true believerYou have at least 8 years' experience as a software engineer and 2-3 years leading a team or people.You take control and exercise leadership to lead change by initiating action, giving direction and taking responsibility to ensure delivery of outcomesYou are great at prioritising, planning and organising your day and can manage your time efficientlyWorking as a team comes naturally to you – it's all about driving collaboration and teamwork to deliver resultsAdept at problem solving, especially in relation to getting individuals and teams to be the best version of themselvesCreative and critical thinking abilities Duties and Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to): Build and maintain a high performing development teamSupport and develop the careers of members of the teamBe an advocate for agile processes within the teamProvide technical guidance to team membersLiaise with the Product Owner regarding team priorities and collaboratively maintain the backlogEnsure the overall quality of development and deliveryRemove roadblocks and interruptions to help the team performEnsures that security forms an integral part of solutionsPresent practical input for strategic technology decisionsStay up to date with industry trends, and standardsLiaise with the relevant stakeholders regarding the development and delivery of projectsPerform general management functions to ensure the smooth running of the development teamProvide team with clear performance standardsMonitor staff compliance to HR policies and proceduresConduct the recruitment and promotion of staff in line with HR policies and proceduresEffectively motivate and identify ways to develop the development team Key Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)Formal programming qualification (Desirable)+2 years' in a leadership role (Essential)+8 years' experience as a software developer (Essential)Experience using PHP (Desirable)Experience in architecting, developing, testing, deploying systems (Essential)Knowledge of software development methodologiesKnowledge of caching, version control, message queues, issue tracking, monitoring, database transactions and testing methodologies I am sure you are reading this job description and meet majority of the criteria BUT you may also still not be 100% comfortable in applying.
