You are a technically minded Software Developer with a thirst for knowledge, possessing an interest in functional programming and distributed systems. You would join the core systems team, working on complex engineering challenges in an environment that requires a 24/7 uptime. The systems are highly scalable as they process a high volume of transactions on a daily basis and security is paramount.

You already have programming skills and are looking for an environment where you can enhance what you already know. Ideally, you can code in Golang, Scala or Erlang and have exposure to a large scale Linux operating system. Fundamentally, you love to solve problems in a hardworking and delivery-focused company culture. The teams are supportive with everyone focused on the common goal of delivering on projects to a high technical standard. 

Day to day work will include developing low latency, highly available and scalable solutions. You'll support the existing code base, whilst constantly looking to improve it thus contributing to solution proposals as required. You'll document your work and collaborate with the wider engineering function to ensure the company's long term technical goals are met and even exceeded.

The role offers flexibility with hybrid work, you would visit the central Manchester office a couple of times a week in order to ensure the team tasks are being delivered on. There is a substantial bonus available up to 30% of base salary depending on both your and the company's performance. Pension contributions exceed the industry average and you'll be given the tools to grow your career.
