Software Development Manager - (Ibm Main Systems: Information Technology)

Primary Responsibilities: Focus on this role is to oversee and coordinate IT Software development projects for the IBMi Systems, aimed at maintaining, developing and implementing software solutions for the organization. Responsibilities: Initiate and manage IT Software development projects for the IBMi systems, assessing business priorities and determining IT priorities, while effectively allocating tasks to IT programmes Coordinate and plan Sofware development projects ensuring technical specifications are approved and finalized. Oversee testing phases for the implantation of IT software development projects on the IBM system. Collaborate with business units regarding IT Sofware development initiatives for the IBMi system Qualifications and Skills: a relevant bachelor's degree or comparable tertiary qualification or signification experience in IT software development Background or experience in financial accounting Proficiency in MS projects or similar project management software At least 10 years' experience in software development within the IBMi environment A minimum of 3 years in a managerial role related to IT Software development projects Skills: Strong communication skills in Afrikaans and English Exceptional organization skills and project management abilities Proficient in COBOL and IBMi operating systems Previous experience in agri-business setting is an advantage
