Software Development Manager - (Ibm Main Systems: Information Technology)

Primary Responsibilities:* Focus on this role is to oversee and coordinate IT Software development projects for the IBMi Systems, aimed at maintaining, developing and implementing software solutions for the organization.Responsibilities:* Initiate and manage IT Software development projects for the IBMi systems, assessing business priorities and determining IT priorities, while effectively allocating tasks to IT programmes* Coordinate and plan Sofware development projects ensuring technical specifications are approved and finalized.* Oversee testing phases for the implantation of IT software development projects on the IBM system.*Collaborate with business units regarding IT Sofware development initiatives for the IBMi systemQualifications and Skills:* a relevant bachelor's degree or comparable tertiary qualification or signification experience in IT software development* Background or experience in financial accounting* Proficiency in MS projects or similar project management software* At least 10 years' experience in software development within the IBMi environment* A minimum of 3 years in a managerial role related to IT Software development projectsSkills:* Strong communication skills in Afrikaans and English* Exceptional organization skills and project management abilities* Proficient in COBOL and IBMi operating systems* Previous experience in agri-business setting is an advantage
