Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Provide overall system support and development of the Planning Product/ServicesCollaborate with the business to understand the business requirements and translate them into business and technology requirements that can be fulfilled by internal solutionsProvide business and system process guidance for building out and evolving the Planning Product/ServiceIdentify integration requirements between systems to achieve business needsDevelopment/Maintenance and implementation of new products/systems based on business and technical requirements identifiedConduct testing with users to ensure that the product meets the needs identifiedConduct train the trainer and business demonstrations for senior users (managers and executives) if and when requiredCorrespondence with the business and users surrounding implementation/rolloutCollect, process and report on data for the businessAdvise the business on new enhancements to existing productsIn depth knowledge of planning and the solutions within a retail environment to be able to carry out these tasks and further assist with supportEnsuring the company security policy is implemented and maintained throughout the planning systemsQualifications and Experience:BSc in Computer Science or related degree/DiplomaExperience with planning and related solutions within a retail environment is an advantageExposure to retail Merchandise Planning business processes.Experience working on retail planning applications (e.g JDA AKB or EKB Planning Suite/Oracle Retail MFP)Experience with Oracle PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting and Report writing is requiredInvolvement in end-to-end SDLC (including Agile & DevOps experience)Gathering requirements from business users and translating into technical requirementsUnderstanding and developing planning solutions in the retail environmentKnowledge and experience in Excel including pivot tables, SQL, BI reporting tools - development and use of including development and integrationAdvanced Knowledge of planning within a retail environment (business and technical)Advanced Planning Configuration ToolWriting interface scripts and running schedulerSkills:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical, conceptual, problem-solving and solution drivenStrong documentation skillsProven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and proceduresAble and willing to collaborate in a team environment (within business and IT) and exercise independent judgmentExcellent understanding of business complexity, business processes (and implementing) and project interdependenciesStrong stakeholder management and engagement skillsBehaviours:Collaborates - effectively works with others to achieve shared goalsCommunicates Effectively - conveys information and communicates ideas in a clear, concise and impactful mannerCultivates Innovation - creates an environment that fosters and nurtures a culture of creativity which drives successDecision Quality - consistently makes timely, well-rounded and informed decisionsEnsures Accountability - takes accountability and ensures others are held to account on agreed upon performance targetsManages Complexity - interprets and simplifies complex and contradictory information when resolving organisational problemsTech Savvy - leverages new technology to enhance productivity, improve problem solving, and support business growthPreference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.ABOUT USWho we are is because of our people.
