Details of the offer

Purpose of the Job:
To lead and oversee the procurement operations, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
Qualifications:

Minimum:

Grade 12 with a Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Management.

Preferred:

Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification will be advantageous.
Experience:

3-5 years of relevant procurement experience, ideally in the FMCG or Manufacturing sectors.
Proven track record in managing procurement operations and leading cross-functional teams.
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management:

Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including purchasing, tender administration, and vendor management.
Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., BBBEE, OSH Act).
Monitor and control procurement costs to align with departmental and organizational budgets.

Supplier and Vendor Management:

Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to meet business objectives.
Conduct vendor evaluations, oversee contract negotiations, and ensure alignment with the company's BBBEE strategy.
Maintain and update the Approved Vendor List, ensuring up-to-date supplier documentation and compliance with legislative requirements.

Financial and Risk Management:

Implement controls to mitigate procurement risks and ensure financial accountability.
Oversee purchase requisitions and purchase order management, verifying accuracy, delivery timelines, and price negotiations.
Manage the reconciliation of invoices, purchase orders, and delivery notes, resolving discrepancies with Accounts Payable.

Inventory and Logistics:

Ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained across all operational sites, minimizing disruptions to the supply chain.
Oversee logistics, including the management of storage facilities and the timely delivery of goods.
Liaise with internal teams to ensure the efficient flow of inventory and manage import processes when required.

Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:

Enforce compliance with HSE policies in all procurement-related activities.
Address workplace hazards and risks, ensuring the application of health and safety standards.
Participate in Food Safety and HSE meetings, ensuring procurement practices support organizational HSE goals.

Reporting and Data Accuracy:

Prepare monthly procurement reports, analyzing data on costs, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
Maintain accurate procurement records and update databases for audit purposes.

Team Leadership and Development:

Provide leadership and mentorship to the procurement team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and execution within the department.
Conduct internal procurement training and facilitate departmental collaboration.

Key Skills:

Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems like SAP.
Understanding of BBBEE compliance and supplier management.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation.
Ethical approach to procurement and business practices.

Note: Candidates must be familiar with the Foodstuffs Disinfectants and Cosmetics Act and related regulations, as the role involves compliance with food safety standards.
