Chartered Accountant (Group Financial Manager)We are seeking a highly skilled Qualified Chartered Accountant with Group Financial Management experience, to join our clients' dynamic Finance team. Our client is a SME (Small to Medium Enterprise) in the IT industry, with branches in South Africa and the UK.
This exciting opportunity is based in Midrand, Johannesburg.
Compensation: Up to R1.14M + bonus + benefits per annum depending on experience.
Main purpose of the role:
As the Group Financial Manager, you will assist the Group Financial Controller, ensuring the financial health is in check and that Finance strategies are met for the Global Group by assisting with budget planning and offering insights and financial advice to enable the finance department to make the best business decisions. Ensure compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) - ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards within the company.

Required minimum education and work experience: CA (SA) preferableMinimum 5 years relevant financial management experienceAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including designing and presenting pivot tables, reports, etc.Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central or similarKey performance areas: Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the Group globally.Assist with financial reporting and improving current financial practices.Budget control.Assist with the Group's compliance to financial regulations and legislation globally.Daily book entries.Review of monthly global payrolls.Technical knowledge / competencies: Advanced Mathematical and/or Accounting skillsAdvanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)Business Intelligence skillsReporting skillsProblem-solving skills.Solid understanding of business principles and practicesNegotiation skillsAbility to meet deadlines.Commercial and business awarenessInternet bankingKey Criteria for the Role: Qualifications: Preferably a Chartered Accountant (CA) (but candidates with CIMA or ACCA qualification may also be considered depending on experience).Skills:Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create models.Methodical with good attention to detail.Ability to balance perfectionism with flexibility.Empathetic and mature.Agile and adaptable to a changing environment.Ability to work across all business units and form relationships.Personality:Preferably extroverted and bubbly, but at least empathetic and able to work well with others.Adaptable to different cultural mindsets, especially between South African and British teams.Experience:Preferably from a medium-sized organization or audit firm.Experience in implementing processes and working with people rather than focusing solely on technical accounting.Experience with international teams is advantageous.Technologies in Use:Accounting: Business Central (Microsoft Dynamics).Reporting: Jet Reporting.Payroll: Paymaster (South Africa) and Sage People (UK).Preferred Background: Candidates from medium-sized organizations.Candidates who have dealt with South African matters and have a global mindset.Candidates who can adapt to and work well with international teams, particularly in the UK.Working Hours:
Generally, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, hybrid with Wednesdays being compulsory.
Overtime:
Required during busy periods such as audits, year-end, and verification processes. Flexibility needed to work with international teams, considering time differences, especially with the UK and occasionally the US.
Salary: Up to R90K p/m + benefits + bonus.
