Site Project Manager: EBOP Windfarm - OptiPower Listing reference: mr_001646 Listing status: Online Apply by: 19 July 2024 Position summary Industry: Electricity, Energy & Water Supply Job category: Energy and Power Engineering Location: South Africa Contract: Fixed Term Contract Remuneration: Market Related Introduction The Site Project Manager (PM) will assume total accountability for effective leadership and profitable delivery of the EBOP Windfarm Project.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring delivery on time, customer satisfaction, mentoring and motivating project teams through guidance for their full potential and creating a culture of excellence, safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure understanding, management and administration of the contract.
Ensure that progress, delays and any other events, which might influence the program and costs are communicated timeously to Management.
Develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
Submit and manage monthly progress payments to the client.
Minimise exposure and risk by implementing audits of safety standards and quality assurance controls.
Coordinate work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
Oversee performance of all trade contractors and reviews all issued drawings to ensure all specifications and regulations are being followed.
Ensure proper administration of construction contracts and obtaining all necessary permits and licenses.
Supervise team, review their reports, check on any reported difficulties, and correct any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
Track and control construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of projects within time and budget.
Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of the project.
Accurately forecast revenue, profitability and project costs.
Proactively identify changes in project scope and ensure appropriate measures are taken.
Integrate process between subcontractors, suppliers and construction team.
Develop and execute a procurement plan.
Handle any environmental or local community issues that may arise during a project.
Conduct site checks to monitor progress as well as safety and quality standards and implementations.
Competency Profile Qualifications: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent B-Tech.
SACPCMP Certification advantageous.
Construction Regulations Certificate.
This is a site-based role.
Skills & Experience: Minimum 10 years Project Management experience in a relevant site-based industry, with at least 5 years Renewable Energy experience, EBOP Windfarm construction required.
Experience of Project Financing Process and Requirements.
Previous experience of managing projects through the financial, planning, procurement and construction processes.
Experience of managing a minimum of 100 staff members.
