Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a Site Supervisor/Manager, with a background in road surfacing, to join their Roads division, focusing on road surfacing and rehabilitation projects nationally Please note that only candidates with a background in roads and road surfacing will be considered due to the focused and specialized nature of the role KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION: You will have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, coupled with 5 plus years experience in road surfacing and rehabilitation projects.
You will have solid knowledge of slurry, chip and spraying, emulsions, colrub spraying and mobile plant operations on project sites.
You will have experience in site planning and scheduling, pre-project communication with clients and head office regarding resources and equipment, as well as providing input into materials and specialized requirements to meet client requirements.
You will have experience in controlling costs on sites, take responsibility for plant equipment and assets on sites, as well as ensure breakdowns are promptly attended to in order to avoid delay penalties and provide input into budgets and costing for estimates/quotations or tenders.
Sound knowledge of site health and safety and quality workmanship and proven experience in maintaining the highest standards, with a zero incidents record A strong leadership skills, motivating site teams and effectively managing any IR or training and development that may be required You must have a valid driver's licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record Please note that should you not be currently resident in the region and area advertised but still wish to apply, the cost of travel for interviews and relocation will be for your expense.
