Site Manager Mining

The Site Manager coordinates with Management (including other functional roles), studying specifications and construction procedures and exercises functional authority for all scope of works and related construction activities. The Site Manager reports to the Management (including other functional roles) and is responsible for providing managing all activities at the site.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all construction activities within the designated areas are well planned, coordinated and be able to utilize all available resources in coordination with other functional Managers in directing and supervising all involved site personnel, and subcontractors when required.
• Lead and ensure all work groups are properly guided, in close cooperation with the Project Manager, in assembling and controlling the required resources (manpower, equipment, materials and tools required) to start and sustain the work efficiency and productivity until the completion of the project.
• Advises Management in determining the need and procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specific times to conform to the workloads, plans and schedules.
• Interact with other construction areas and Supervisors, discusses and review with Management the project Key Performance Indicators to determine accurate status of the project, making tactical decisions for allocating resources, and assigning staff requirements, to maintain project on target.
• Supervising and Motivating construction workers/and or workforce.
• Conducting and maintain quality control checks and safety inspections; and checking and preparing site reports.
• Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise
• Ensuring that OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) policies are adhered to.
• Keeping OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) files up to date.
• Overall Management and delivery of Surface and Underground Construction.
• Give input and advice on construction issues pertaining to scheduling, cost saving measures, potential construction problems and procurement of material and equipment.
• Ensure all site construction activities comply with quality and legislative requirements.
• Builds solid relationships with management and employee to enable effective management and co-operation.
• Driving a sound and positive relationship with internal stakeholders including the Mine Workers and construction employees.
• Installation of pipes
• Ensure that compliance file is kept updated e.g., Safety file, PTO, Early Shift and Lock Out etc.
• Coordinate the planning with engineering construction planner: Monthly schedule, Monthly target focus and actual focus review.
• Manage and communicate the monthly Workplan.
