Site Manager (Mechanical) - Botswana - Mining Industry

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee operations at our mining facility in Botswana. This role involves managing daily activities related to the maintenance, installation, and optimization of filters and crushers used in mineral processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining operations, equipment management, and team leadership, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. As Site Manager, personnel shall: Manage the day-to-day management of the Site activities including the following:Ensure compliance with the project HSE procedure and standards. Also, ensure that the corporate HSE guidelines are followed to the extent possible. If applicable, should proactively use HSE 24 safety reporting Tool to register observations, incidents, accidents etc.Participate and advise in evaluation of hazards and risks for work and need for high-risk work procedures, as required and coordinated with other stakeholders.Manage a multi-disciplined site advisory team to ensure that the Installation and electromechanical activities are completed in accordance with the Contractual specifications and Installation best working practices.Perform contract/claims management together with the Site commercial (if available) and/or Project Manager.Advise material handling of our supplied equipment.Liaise with engineering and procurement departments to ensure that the engineering and supply deliverables are available in accordance with the Installation schedule, development of action plans – changes in Installation sequence, local purchase of critical supplies/materials to avoid delays (Only if required).Review and approval of daily and weekly timesheets, reports, provide input for monthly reports, resolve technical issues together with his field engineers.Ensure adequate day-to-day site office administration.Attend meetings with the Employer's representatives as required by the Contract or any special circumstances that may develop on site.Attend meetings with third-party subcontractors, vendors representatives, consultants and specialists, ensure compliance with all the necessary protocols, procedures and actions relating to Mechanical Completion and handover to commissioning team.The Site Manager will be required to participate in pre-mobilization activities such as Level 3 Master schedule development, Site resource planning, development of site procedures and will therefore be required to be present at any of the different technical offices (as stated in the project-by-Project Manager).When the mobilization commences, he or she will be permanently on site during the construction and installation period and may be required to stay on during Commissioning to support the Commissioning Team.
