Location: Cape TownJob Type: Limited Duration ContractDescription:RPO's client is seeking two skilled Site Engineers to ensure the successful completion of quality projects within both the project time frames and budget. The role involves coordinating all relevant parties and implementing processes, practices, and solutions that ensure maximum efficiency and control of costs during the construction process.Responsibilities:Risk Management: Proactively report and address risksDraft risk assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Prioritize opportunities for cost reduction and risk transferIdentify opportunities and contribute to mitigating actionsParticipate in peer reviews and internal/external auditsPlanning and Organising:Understand and apply construction programs and planning techniquesCollaborate with the Site Agent and Planner to formulate schedulesEnsure accurate communication of program requirementsImplement works and coordinate site preparation activitiesStrategically plan project execution, fostering collaboration between site office and on-site staffOversee and synchronize procedures related to planning, costing, and contract managementManage ongoing works in alignment with the project's contractual obligations, restricting wastage and overtime as much as possibleProject Execution:Monitor and regulate overall progress, costs, quality, and safety complianceEnsure adherence to quality standardsActively contribute to cost controlEfficiently manage construction plant and equipmentEnforce correct drawings and specifications for timely project completionCoordinate work systematically and identify cost-effective options for plant and equipment usageLiaise with the Clients Resident Engineer and Clerk of Works to ensure timely inspections and quality sign-offsGenerate and follow up on queries linked to inadequate construction information supplied by the professional teamSubmit and track sample and shop drawing approvalsPrioritize and approve long lead items to avoid delays in on-site requirementsReporting:Present clear management reports detailing target aspects, both negative and positive variationsDetail actions taken to minimize the impact on project completionAssist in the preparation of Contract ReportsProvide technical support to meet client needsMaintain a daily site diary by collating information for approvalUpdate a delay diary to manage and control project schedule aspectsRequirements:Relevant BSc in Engineering or Construction Management within the Construction industryProfessional Registration with SACPCMP3-5 years of relevant on-site experience as a Site Engineer on major building projectsBenefits:Salary: negotiableContact RPO Recruitment for our next career opportunity.Our client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experience.
