Duties & Responsibilities

Project Planning and Management:
Develop detailed project plans and schedules for concrete works.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines.
Site Supervision:
Oversee all concrete-related activities on the construction site.
Ensure compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and standards.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work quality and safety.
Workforce Management:
Supervise site personnel, including subcontractors and laborers.
Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
Provide training and guidance to the workforce on best practices and safety procedures.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all concrete works are carried out to the highest standards of quality.
Perform quality checks and tests on materials and finished work.
Address any issues or defects promptly to maintain quality standards.
Health and Safety:
Implement and enforce health and safety policies on the construction site.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure all safety measures are in place.
Promote a culture of safety among the workforce.
Financial management:
Review tender documentation and establish cost effective alternative solutions.
Ensure contract profitability.
Valuations and production of invoices.
Production of monthly cost reports and forecasts.
Resource Management:
Manage the procurement and delivery of materials and equipment for concrete works.
Maintain accurate records of material usage and inventory.
Ensure the efficient use of resources to minimize waste.
Communication and Reporting:
Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders.
Prepare and present regular progress reports to project managers and clients.
Document all site activities, including daily logs, reports, and incident records.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction.
Develop innovative solutions to improve construction processes and outcomes.
Liaise with engineers and other experts to address technical problems.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management.
Minimum Experience in the same or similar role: 3 - 5 Years or more in the construction of bridges and concrete works.
Computer literate with programs including all programs on Microsoft Office.
Experience in CCS will be advantageous.
Professional Registration with SACPCMP will be advantageous.
Ability to work away from home for extended periods of time.
Ability to work under pressure.
