Minimum requirements for the role: A matric or equivalent is essential for this role. A sourcing and/or logistics qualification would be an advantage but is not essential. Must have excellent Microsoft office and Excel skills. Previous experience having worked on SAP is essential for the role. Previous shipping experience having dealt with shipping imports, exports and procuring from international suppliers is preferred for the role. Previous experience and a clear understanding of product costing is preferred. Previous experience in dealing with local and international suppliers and logistics companies is preferred. Does not have to work on PowerPoint. Previous experience having worked within a distribution or manufacturing co supplying the chemical and related manufacturing markets is preferred. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Assisting the Sales and Product Managers with procuring raw materials from international technology partners / suppliers who they represent within the personal care and homecare manufacturing industries. Placing and loading orders onto SAP and then sending it onto international personal care and homecare suppliers. Overseeing demand planning and ordering stock from a portfolio of international suppliers for key accounts. Monitoring short shelf-life stock and slow moving stock. Allocating stock to customers and approving cancellations/amendments of sales orders. Handling various queries such as pricing, stock availability etc from principles. Requesting sea freight estimates/air freight estimates. Checking expiry dates of the COAs before products are shipped. Advising sales and senior management regarding delays on their stock. Requesting relevant shipping documents dealing with the suppliers TDS, certificate of analysis. Liaising with the shipping company regularly to ensure that stock will be arriving in time.
