Shipping Controller

Shipping Controller – Lucky Star Marketing   Key Job Responsibilities: Plan freight movement of imported and cross voyage cargo.
Coordinate customs clearance of ocean freight consignments.
Prepare landed costing in SAP.
Process control Import, Export and Cross Trade shipments Cost control (Shipping costs, storage etc) Invoice consignees Continuously engaging with suppliers and consignees Manage and control documentation flow by liaising with agents, suppliers and customers for the correct and timeous preparation of shipping documents.
Monitor and ensure that all empty containers are uplifted for new shipments and turned in within the prescribed free time period.
Participate in process improvement projects   Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Be well-versed in South African import and export procedures, e.g., Port Health, DAFF etc.
Pressurized role requires attention to detail Good administrative skills Good written and verbal communication skills (English required, any additional languages will be beneficial) Accountable and adaptable High values of integrity and confidentiality Motivated and energetic Understanding Customs compliance Team player Ability to work without supervision and use own initiative             Qualifications and Experience: 5-10 years shipping experience Grade 12 Matric Certificate Tertiary Qualification in Supply Chain Management (Advantageous) Incoterms Certificate (Essential) Shipping qualification beneficial Experience in customer relations/interactions Computer literacy - Advanced MS Office Proficient in SAP processing   In support of the company's Employment Equity Plan, applicants from designated groups will be given preference for this position.
