Shipping ControllerLarge Importer and exporter of frozen meat is urgently needing a shipping controller.It is imperative that the applicant has experience in framing import & export bills of entry and import releases, along with a strong knowledge in framing import and export road bills of entry and export road freight as it will be their primary task, however, will also be doing releases.The Company does own in-house clearances.Duties & ResponsibilitiesFraming bills of entry (import and export) and import releases.Responsibilities - primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role include, but are not limited to:Monitor cross pack and cross border processManage and monitor storageFraming export road freight bills of entry - SAD declarationManage and monitor electronic Road Freight Manifests (eRFMs) submissionsAcquittal submission upon request from SARSRCG submissionsCompliance reportSpeaking to suppliers and arranging permitsMaintaining stock sheetSystem update / data integrity / Cross border documents for record keepingImport:QC & prepare the necessary import documentsFraming import bills of entry - SAD declarationCompliance reportThe controller will also be involved with the import releases:Handle import files from the point of release from customs through to completion and delivery of transport documentation (prioritize urgent shipments) (monitor ETA)Prepare documents for state vet, port health, plant inspection and haz cargoContact shipping lines and obtain release chargesDraw up payment requisitions for release chargesComplete shipping line instructionsSend all necessary documentation and POP to lines for releaseComplete cartage and CTO / NAVIS instructionsLiaising with 3rd party service providers – reporting exceptions to ManagerUpdate internal system / status report with any required dataAssist shipping controllers in any aspect of registration, approval of copy document, etc. as deemed necessaryAssist shipping controllers with any queries, refunds or analysis etc. as deemed necessary – sense of urgencyDesired Experience & QualificationAbility to work in Cato Ridge; own car is preferred.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:MatricMinimum of 3 years road export experienceMinimum of 3 years framing bills of entry experienceMinimum of 3 years sea freight import experienceSKILLS AND TRAITS REQUIRED:Organized and methodicalProficient in MS Office Word and ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsACCOUNTABILITYCOMPETENCY:Planning / Organizational skillsPrioritizing workloadResult orientatedPackage & RemunerationMarket related
