Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Shift Supervisor Mining to be placed at Impala 16 Shaft near Rustenburg North West, The successful candidate will report to the Mine Overseer.The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates.Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Effective daily planning, organising and control within area of responsibility to achieve daily production quality and safety targets Management of materials, consumables and explosives within tolerances for total section Accurate, timely, thorough reporting in line with the DMR, M&RC and client requirements Managing team performance and ensuring a competent, motivated and positive team Compliance with SHEQ, M&RC and client standards, policies and procedures Team and Self understand and comply with M&RC and client standards, policies, procedures a safety protocols Ensure cost containment in section Monthly planning and measuring of total section Effective Team and self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives Development and mining construction for total section Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 Blasting Certificate of Competency Recognised Shift Supervisor Certificate Sound planning and organising skills Studying towards a Mine Overseer Certificate (advantageous) Good Leadership, coaching and interpersonal skills Good English written and verbal communication skills Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in mining environment Minimum 3 years of experience in shaft and Orepass rehabilitation / secondary support such as wire mesh and lacing, installation of long anchors and specialized support projects in a supervisory or management position Previous experience as a miner general ,shift supervisor or equivalent in mining environment Experience in managing subcontractors in mining, construction and underground environment Planning, production and shaft rehabilitation skills with sound knowledge of mining operations All appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
