Key Responsibilities:Milling Operations:Operate and monitor milling machinery to process wheat and/or maize into flour or other products according to production schedules.Adjust equipment settings to ensure optimal product quality and efficiency.Ensure adherence to product specifications, including granulation, extraction rates, and moisture levels.Quality Control:Conduct regular sampling and quality checks on raw materials and finished products.Identify and address any deviations from quality standards.Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to meet customer and regulatory requirements.Team Supervision:Supervise shift staff, providing clear instructions and guidance.Ensure that team members adhere to operational and safety protocols.Address any performance or operational issues during the shift.Maintenance and Troubleshooting:Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential issues.Collaborate with the maintenance team to address mechanical or technical faults.Minimize downtime by responding promptly to operational disruptions.Health, Safety, and Hygiene:Comply with all workplace safety regulations and encourage team compliance.Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the production area.Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in the milling process.Reporting and Documentation:Maintain accurate records of production data, including output, downtime, and quality checks.Prepare shift reports and communicate key information to incoming shift teams and management.Continuous Improvement:Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.Stay updated on industry trends and milling technologies.Qualifications and Experience:Education: Diploma or degree in Milling, Food Science, or a related field.Experience:Minimum 3-5 years of experience in wheat and/or maize milling.Proven expertise in operating and maintaining milling machinery.Certifications: Relevant milling certifications with Trade Test
