SHER Manager Location: Germiston, Johannesburg Salary: Market-related Role Purpose and Contribution The SHER Manager is responsible for overseeing the adequacy and overall effectiveness of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Risk (SHER) management. This includes strategy development, operational implementation, and compliance monitoring to align business objectives with corporate strategy and mitigate uncertainties. Requirements: Tertiary Qualification: Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical) or a degree in Health and Safety, Environment, Risk, or Quality. Experience: Minimum 5-8 years in a SHER Manager role Knowledge: Strong understanding of risk management principles, SHER/Security policies, legislation, and procedures Preferred Qualifications: ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 45000, and ISO 22000 experience. SAMTRAC or NEBOSH qualification. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA). Incident Investigation Level 3. Spillage Response Qualification. COIDA and Legal Liability Qualification. SACPCMP Registration. ISO Internal Auditor certification. Leadership & Technical Competencies Collaborate with the SHERQ Group Manager to develop overall SHER strategy and processes. Foster a culture supporting the implementation of SHER policies and procedures. Set realistic and achievable short- and long-term goals and establish performance standards. Integrate SHER management with organizational business systems. Provide regular reporting to the General Manager and Operations Team. Coordinate monthly SHER committee meetings and maintain action trackers.
