She Officer – Fruit Packhouse – Nelspruit

Job purpose: Conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. Implement relevant Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) system. Ensure the management and supervision of the packhouse general hygiene.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS Health and Safety • Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported and correct documentation completed.
• Ensure all identified risks are mitigated and managed as far as possible to avoid any hazards.
• Assist with drafting risk assessments, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure all H&S lawful requirements are met and adhered to
• Conduct emergency drills and action when needed.
• Drive the reporting of near misses and incidences.
• Conduct Health and safety audits and inspections.
• Communication of Corrective action reports for areas of nonconformances
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Grade 12
• National diploma in safety management/ Risk management/SAMTRAC or relevant qualification and experience will be advantageous.
• Experience in the Citrus/Agriculture/Food processing industry will be advantageous
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS • Computer skills (MS Office)
• Able to lead and drive a safety culture.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multi processes.
• Team player and able to work under pressure
