The Company is looking for a Compliance Manager responsible for group health & safety and compliance management. The respective candidate should be highly organised, administrative, professional, and attention to detail orientated. Summary purpose/expectations: The purpose of this role is to assess and manage different divisions to ensure compliance. The Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. Further to this role you will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance, health & safety to ensure everyone in the workplace. Key deliverables: Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining a SHE system within the Group. Attend to SHE related functions and ensure job tasks are completed timely and timeously. Drive the safety, health, environmental and risk management strategy for the Group operations. Identify key organization-wide trends/ shifts/ issues relating to SHE, that impact on strategy, implementation of SHE procedures/policies and ensure that effective SHE plans are in place to address risk register. Conduct induction training for all staff and contractors annually, and for all new employees. Keep records of all SHE related records for audit purposes. To this effect, maintain a filing system for efficient retrieval of records. Ensure that all fire safety checks, and related records are maintained, take corrective action to obtain the records working with other departments. Conduct OHS inspections and submit reports in timelines given. Actively organize group SHE activities e.g. toolbox talks, green area meetings. Coordinate all H&S committee meetings, maintain minutes of meetings and ensure that outstanding actions are completed Follow up on actions stemming from SHE committee meetings. Drive the culture of safety ownership at all levels of the organization with a strong emphasis on behaviour-based safety. Identify areas of risk and assist in developing measures to eliminate, reduce and control them. Facilitate and ensure that staff and contractors comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards. Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations, industry standards and company standards. Ensure prompt reporting, investigation, and remedial action of OHS incidents, including IODs. Requirements: Minimum Academic & Experience required for this position: Relevant National Diploma or B Tech Degree in Safety Management / Risk Management or relevant equivalent qualification. SAMTRAC and COMSOC 2 Certificates will be advantageous will be an advantage. Accredited with HPCSA. NEBOSH, or equivalent will be an advantage. 3-5 Years post qualification experience in Health and Safety Management, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, mining, or commercial services environment. 3 5 Years ISO / Management Systems auditing experience Advanced in MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel - advance, PowerPoint, Word). Understanding and have knowledge of the respective financial policies, procedures, and processes. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 (OHSA) (as amended) and the responsibilities of management in terms of the Act. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Mines Health and Safety Act, (Act 29 of 1996) and its application National Environmental Management Act Demonstrate an understanding of ISO 14001, 9001 and 45001 standards. Minimum of 5 years management experience. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities. Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
