Overview of the AT(SA) learnership As part of AFA commitment to upskilling youth and creating work ready candidates, the proposed candidate will be enrolled in an AT (SA) learnership relevant to the business and the industry. The cost of the learnership course will be borne by AFA and the candidate will receive mentoring and study support to complete the learnership. The candidate will be required to commit to completing the course content within the specified time. Study days will be allocated to support the learner. The AT (SA) qualification is designed to take you on a progressive pathway, from a foundational level through to an advanced level of accounting knowledge, skills and competencies. AT(SA) is registered with SAQA and all the qualifications meet both NQF and Learnership requirements. AT(SA) is an associate body of The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) which means you are part of a forward-thinking institute at the helm of developing, influencing and leading the future of the accountancy profession at large. The AFA, AT(SA) training program combines accounting theory with real-world practical experience, enabling you to practically apply newly acquired skills in your own work environment. There are three NQF levels to complete to obtain the full AT(SA) Qualification that takes on average 3 years to complete i.e.: Level 3 Certification: Accounting Technician (NQF 3) Level 4 FET Certificate: Accounting Technician (NQF 4) Level 5 Certificate: Accounting (NQF 5) While completing the traineeship, the employee will be employed as a fulltime shared services trainee, in the AFA finance team. The trainee will be under supervision of a shared services employee and will be responsible for processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices etc. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Salary package: R6 000 per month, gross Payment of AT(SA) traineeship Study, exam and annual leave On the job coaching Key Responsibilities of shared services trainee (Some examples not comprehensive): Accounts Payable Processor Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Review and verify invoices for proper documentation and approval. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly. Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and files. Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports related to accounts payable. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements Manage and respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments and account status. Collaborate with other departments to facilitate the accounts payable process. Support year-end audits and provide necessary documentation as required. Accounts Receivable Processor Generate Sales invoices in a timely manner. Perform sales reconciliation and resolve discrepancies promptly. Perform Customer reconciliation Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions Processing monthly journals & receipt allocations Manage and respond inquiries regarding payments and account status. Collaborate with other departments to facilitate the accounts receivables process. Support year-end audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
