Description: The Sexual Violence Prevention and Support Centre has an opportunity for a term appointment at our Scarborough Campus (UTSC). We welcome internal applications from our community who are looking to enhance their skills and experiences. The Coordinator provides non-judgmental and confidential support to clients with concerns stemming from their experience of sexual violence and its impact on functioning in the post-secondary context.
The Centre is invested in education initiatives and continues to raise awareness through workshops, training, programs, and campaigns. The incumbent will provide education and training to University community members regarding understanding consent and responding to disclosures of sexual violence.
The Coordinator provides case management and triage services, referrals to internal (e.g., accessibility services, health services) and external services (e.g., financial, legal) for the University community in accordance with the University's Policy on Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment.
The Coordinator conducts screening/triage around sexual violence cases; monitors client flow and adherence to requests for accommodations, supports, or resources; and manages urgent and/or complex cases.
Qualifications: Education: Graduate-level university degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, public health, criminology) or equivalent combination of education and experience;Knowledge of the criminal justice system and police policy and procedures.Experience: Minimum seven (7) years related experience, preferably in a Sexual Assault Care Centre or Community Mental Health setting;Extensive experience with mental health illnesses, behavioral issues, anger management, and conflict resolution;Skills in working with university-aged young adults and individuals in crisis;Demonstrated understanding of the impact of sexual violence on intersectional identities when providing trauma-informed care.Skills: PC and related office equipment (computer, fax, telephone, e-mail).Other: Good judgment and sensitivity, flexibility, and resourcefulness;Ability to communicate effectively with staff and senior academic administrators;Able to work in a highly diverse community;Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team;Demonstrated ability to act calmly under pressure and manage stressful situations;Ability to produce detailed and comprehensive reports.Closing Date: 11/19/2024, 11:59PM ET
