Are you someone who can: Manage own costs and expenses associated with role to enhance cost effectiveness. Identify and escalate potential risks which may lead to increased costs. Contribute to an effective client service delivery culture through adherence to approved organisational service delivery principles. Resolve customer dissatisfaction/complaints by taking ownership of the problem. Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SMEs, project managers, and senior staff members. Report on transactional activity progression within set guidelines to provide timely information for decision making in area of accountability. Comply with and adhere to identified governance and compliance standards and escalate problems for investigation and resolution. You will be an ideal candidate if you: Plan and organise multiple work outputs by assigning priorities and continuously reviewing objectives and goals. Are responsible for end-to-end function of the Settlement lifecycle. Ensure that there are no script imbalances. Identify training/development needs and proactively identify effective solutions to address own and employee development gaps. Ensure that all client and proprietary trades settle accurately and on time, complying with regulatory and industry standards. Handle settlement discrepancies and failures proactively to reduce financial and reputational risk. Support the team's ability to handle trade volume and transaction complexity, ensuring seamless workflow without delay or disruption. We can be a match if you: Have a Degree in Finance, Investments or equivalent (would be an added advantage). Have a JSE Equity Settlement Officer Qualification (would be an advantage). Have 2-4 years of experience in a securities or financial services role, particularly within a settlements or back-office department. Have practical knowledge of the JSE trading and settlement process. Confirm and reconcile trades daily across different asset classes. Have experience in roles like trade support, financial control, or investment operations that involve managing securities trades. Liaise with internal teams and external counterparties to resolve discrepancies. Monitor regulatory compliance within trade settlements.
