Settlement OfficerHire Resolve is currently seeking a Settlement Officer to join our client's team in Cape Town. As a Settlement Officer, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the settlement process for various financial transactions. You will work closely with internal teams, external counterparties, and regulatory bodies to ensure the smooth and timely settlement of trades and transactions.Your role will involve conducting due diligence, verifying transaction details and documentation, coordinating fund transfers, and resolving any settlement-related issues or discrepancies. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.Responsibilities:Manage the settlement process for various financial transactions, including equities, bonds, and derivatives.Conduct due diligence on transaction details, documentation, and counterparties.Coordinate fund transfers and ensure timely settlement of trades and transactions.Monitor and reconcile settlement instructions with counterparties and clearinghouses.Resolve settlement-related issues, discrepancies, and failed trades.Communicate with internal teams, external counterparties, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and efficient settlement processes.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of settlement activities.Stay current with industry regulations, market practices, and technological advancements in settlement systems.Participate in the development and implementation of new settlement processes and systems.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in settlement operations or a similar role within the financial services industry.Strong understanding of settlement procedures, market practices, and regulatory requirements.Excellent knowledge of securities and financial instruments.Proficiency in using settlement systems and platforms.Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, if required.If you meet the above requirements and want to make a career-changing move, apply today by either filling in the online application form or by emailing your CV to ****** will contact you telephonically in 3 days should you be suitable for this vacancy.
