Description: In this introductory course, students will discover technical, conceptual, and professional print-based skills in the world of contemporary art, design, visual culture, and the commercial market. Emphasis in this studio course is placed on practical and applied skills in printmaking, preparing projects for print, and further understanding of the role that print plays within the practices of today's artists. Drawing on both centuries-old techniques and the most modern technologies, students will explore what it means to make an image in the contemporary moment.
Class Schedule: Monday 9:00-12:00
Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025
Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 20 students per section
Minimum Qualifications: MFA (or equivalent graduate degree) required with teaching experience. Strong exhibition history and currently exhibiting artist. Applicants will be asked to supply references.
Description of Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours. Past teaching experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position.
