Description: Introduces the design process with emphasis on conceptual thinking, form generation, and composition. Design problems structure the opportunities to learn the fundamentals of site design in consideration of architectural and urban context, environmental and climatological context, circulation, program, site grading, materials and plant communities.
Class Schedule:
Monday 9:00am - 1:00pm
Monday 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Thursday 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024
Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 12 students per section
Compensation: $18,915.79 (Sessional Lecturer I); $19,861.58 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term); $20,243.53 (Sessional Lecturer II); $20,653.23 (Sessional Lecturer II Long Term); $20,725.52 (Sessional Lecturer III); $21,140.03 (Sessional Lecturer III Long Term). Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications: Master of Landscape Architecture
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Landscape Architecture
Description of Duties: Attending meetings required by studio coordinator; preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials; supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations; marking of student work; submission of grades; dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions; and student contact hours.
This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment. Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement. Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
