A leader in the renewable energy field is looking for an experienced and dedicated Service Technician to join their team in Somerset East.The successful person will carry out scheduled and unscheduled service and maintenance on 66 Wind Turbine Generators and the Electrical Balance of the Plant.General Tasks:Daily reporting to the Lead Supervisor and Service Manager.Ensure that the company fulfils its obligations regarding the contractual terms, with a specific focus on maintaining availability and key performance indicators.Ensure and encourage colleagues to prevent and limit failures on the turbines.Ensure that daily work expenses are kept as low as possible.Proactively report any possible improvements and innovations to the Lead Supervisor and Service Manager.Optimizing availability, reliability and sustainable performance of the facility.Optimize the daily tasks to achieve the best possible team efficiency.Manage and keep overtime costs as low as possible.Ensure that a good work environment for the employees is maintained.Ensure that all safety instructions/descriptions related to the organization and to local legislation is complied with (HS&E).Ensure logistic provisions and maintain spare parts stock.Participate in any course or meeting that is relevant to the department. Travel activity may occur.Ensure work coordination with contractors and customers.Daily management, including coordination and delegation of tasks.Prepare timesheets, including reports stating consumed spare parts, errors and consumables.Minimum Requirements:Millwright, Electrical or Mechanical background (bachelor level).Minimum 3-5 years experience in service/maintenance of electrical/mechanical equipment.Computer and software skills for data collection and reporting - especially within MS Office.Please do not apply if you do not meet the minimum requirements.
