Our client, an established and busy dealership in KZN – Richards Bay / Empangeni is seeking to employ an EXPERIENCED COMMERCIAL DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER that is self-motivated, friendly, and hardworking.
The SERVICE MANAGER will be responsible for the complete management of the departments.
Position: Service Manager Industry: Automotive Location: Hino Richards Bay / Empangeni Salary: Market related MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 5+ years' experience as Commercial Dealership Service Manager in a high-volume dealershipSenior CertificateValid South African Driver's License Code 14 Essential (Or to be obtained within the first year of employment)Ability to manage total financial and budgeting aspects of the departmentFluent in both IsiZulu and EnglishSKILLS: Valuations of trade-in vehiclesExcellent communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsHigh level of motivation, initiative, and integrityDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to perform various tasks such as:
Ensure high-quality service work and standards are met for all services and repairsContribute to customer satisfaction through proper execution of service and repair requirementsEnsure timely delivery of repaired vehiclesOversee training of technicians and apprenticesMaintain a safe working environmentSet and monitor targeted appointment ratesIncrease service and parts salesIncrease market shareMonitor and control expensesReduce job stoppages and time taken for repairsMinimize repeat repairs and comebacksMaintain technician motivation and moraleEnsure employee retention and satisfactionMinimize vehicle carryoversMaintain a clean and orderly workshop using 4S principlesMeet manufacturer's technical performance and operational guidelinesMeet dealer's performance and profit guidelinesOversee daily manpower allocation and capacity planningSupport frontline staff during peak hours for customer relationship buildingAssist with repair explanations to customers when requiredDistribute repair orders to appropriate technicians based on skill and priorityAssist technicians with difficult diagnosesMonitor work progress to ensure timely completionMaintain accurate time-keeping records for techniciansConduct quality control inspectionsKeep frontline staff informed of delays and additional work foundReview and approve service invoices and credit notesOversee warranty and goodwill casesEstablish and implement a service reminder systemSet yearly technical staff training targetsCultivate business relationships with retail and fleet customersDevelop marketing strategies for new business acquisitionAnalyse market competitors, conditions, and campaign effectivenessMonitor and analyse key performance indicatorsEnsure franchisor facility standards are maintainedSet and monitor service performance targetsMonitor and act on customer satisfaction reports and trendsResolve customer complaints efficientlyEnsure availability and maintenance of tools and equipmentAct as a mentor to apprentices and traineesAttend new model training courses and conduct in-house trainingLead, control, and motivate service techniciansConduct regular technician meetingsMonitor service shop environmental and safety issuesMaintain regular contact with franchisor after-sales and technical staffMeet with Dealer Principal and frontline managers regularlyFormulate and implement service department promotionsMonitor staff attendance and process leave applicationsComplete and submit staff incentive claimsAllocate cost centres and authorize sublet and material buy-out invoicesReview and discuss warranty register reports with Dealer PrincipalManage outstanding cash sales and work-in-progress reportsEMAIL SUBJECT LINE:
