Malelane Area – Mpumalanga: Our client is looking for a Service Manager to join the team.Minimum Requirements:Technical Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma, Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Trade Certificate is essential)Experience in a similar role: up to 5 yearsKnowledge of the transport, logistics and agriculture industry both operationally and technicallyAbility to analyse and evaluate market trendsGood relationship building skillsInnovative and lateral thinkingExperience of Preventative Maintenance and planning systemsHands-on management styleTeam player and ability to work in a dynamic team environmentExcellent reporting and presentation skillsAbility to research and study industry and related topics (environmental scanning)Working knowledge of maintaining a large fleet comprising of trucks, trailers, yellow equipment and light vehicles in excess of 100 assetsSafety management experience (preferably NOSA)World-class operational experience (5S, 6 sigma etc.
)DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Expenditure Control – Ensure that expenditures are within budget and that the General Manager and Line Manager are kept informed regarding expenditures.
Appropriate corrective action regarding cost exceeding budget is timeously taken.Compile and review annual budget.Monitor all workshop operations within areas of responsibility, ensuring vehicles are inspected after servicing and repairs, quality standards are maintained, and breakdowns are attended to timeously.Conduct quarterly fleet audits and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.Manage stores stock levels, purchase replacement parts and equipment, and maintain close contact with suppliers.Compile weekly service schedules and manage a service workshop incorporating assets belonging to the Employer and/or Service Providers.Fleet disposal and purchases – Ensure documents are checked for accuracy and the service board is updated daily.Manage the fleet maintenance programme and budget vehicle maintenance costs to acceptable levels.Submit monthly reports timeously, according to the prescribed format.General/Adhoc – SHEQ management in the workshop environment, workshop systems execution and efficiency, technical assistance by investigating fuel consumption anomalies, Wearcheck sample management and execution, warranty claims, disciplinary management, and staff time and attendance management.ONLY short-listed candidates will be contacted
