Senior Workshop Manager

Key Responsibilities:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.Manage the maintenance, repair, and service of machinery, vehicles, or equipment (depending on industry).Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards in the workshop.Ensure all equipment and tools are in good working condition and are maintained regularly.Supervise and manage workshop staff, including technicians, mechanics, and support personnel.Develop staff through training, mentoring, and performance appraisals.Manage scheduling, workload distribution, and staff availability to meet project deadlines.Foster a positive and productive working environment.Ensure that all work carried out meets the company's quality standards.Develop and implement quality control processes to identify and address inefficiencies.Perform regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety protocols.Manage the workshop budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and that the workshop operates within financial targets.Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.Monitor inventory of spare parts, materials, and consumables, and ensure procurement processes are timely and cost-effective.Liaise with customers to discuss repair and service needs, timelines, and costs.Provide regular updates to customers regarding the progress of work.Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering quality service within the agreed timeframe.Plan and coordinate work schedules to ensure that all jobs are completed within deadlines.Ensure that high-priority or urgent jobs are completed promptly.Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including job cards, invoices, and reports.Generate regular reports for senior management on workshop performance, including financial reports, efficiency metrics, and staff performance.Qualifications:Trade test certificate in a related field.5 to 10 years' experience in a workshop or similar environment.Relevant industry certifications.Proven experience in a similar senior workshop or production management role.Strong technical knowledge of machinery or vehicles (depending on the specific industry).Leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Organizational and time management skills.Budgeting and financial management skills.
