Location: Cape Town (2 days in-office and 3 days remote) Contract Type: 9 - 12 month Contract Working Hours: 07:00AM - 15:30PM Job Summary: As a Senior WordPress developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fast, efficient, and scalable WordPress themes and plugins.
You will play a critical role in the full development cycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring high performance and responsiveness of our WordPress sites.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP / HTML / CSS / JS.
Hand-code responsive HTML5/CSS3 with Bootstrap 5.x.x for front end development.
Implement custom JavaScript and jQuery solutions.
Create ACF Blocks for flexible content layouts.
Optimise WordPress sites for speed and performance, including caching strategies.
Collaborate with designers to translate designs into WordPress themes.
Requirements To apply you must have 3 - 5 years of experience in: WordPress theme and plugin development.
Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap 5.x.x.
Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and creating ACF Blocks.
Solid experience with JavaScript libraries and frameworks (e.g., jQuery).
Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first approach.
Version control using Git.
Experience working with Figma as the design to create reusable front end components Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
