The RSAWEB Cloud team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong background in VMware and AWS. The position requires a broad range of technical and non-technical skills, including cloud infrastructure expertise, security knowledge, automation skills, and collaboration skills to develop innovative, scalable, and secure cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Linux and infrastructure deployment as code, with a track record of successful implementation of cloud-based solutions. The candidate must be able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively to deliver high-quality cloud solutions. The cloud computing landscape is constantly evolving, and you will be expected to stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends. Key Objectives:
Design and implement cloud-based solutions in VMware and AWS environments.
Develop, test, and deploy infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies, leveraging Veeam and other leading solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of cloud solutions.
Implement and maintain cloud security measures to protect client data and applications.
Automate cloud operations tasks, including provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
Ensure security, scalability, and availability of cloud-based systems.
Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to current processes.
Work on AWS cloud migration and deployment projects and deliver professional services and resource deployments.
Develop and maintain security controls for encryption, identity management, and access control.
Provide guidance and support to development teams on best practices for cloud infrastructure and application deployment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, SOC, and Networks to develop and implement cloud solutions.
Monitor cloud infrastructure for availability, performance, and cost optimization.
Participate in on-call rotation for critical incident response.
Document cloud-based systems and processes to ensure ease of maintenance and scalability.
Requirements
Senior Cloud Engineers are expected to have experience with cloud migration, deployment, and management, as well as a deep understanding of cloud services and architectures. RSAWEB is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer who is skilled in developing scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions with:
Extensive experience with VMware, NSX-V or NSX-T.
At least 7 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on VMware.
Understanding of networking concepts and experience with configuring network infrastructure in cloud environments.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Solid understanding of data protection principles and experience with Veeam backup and recovery solutions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Security expertise with in-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, identity management, access control, and compliance.
Extra credit if you have:
Strong skills in deployment as code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Experience with Veeam backup solutions.
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Develop scripts and automation using APIs to streamline cloud infrastructure management and operations.
Automation and scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell and familiarity with API integration and automation tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions, or Chef.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Professional certifications such as VMware VCP or VCAP is a must-have.
Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator or similar internationally recognized cloud certifications are a plus.
