This is a pivotal role, shaping our coverage of this vital region and influencing our global news agenda.As a Senior Video Producer, you'll manage a team of talented producers and video journalists, driving innovation and delivering compelling, award-winning content.About The RoleAs Senior Video Producer at Reuters, you will:Lead and mentor: Manage and develop a team of video journalists (staff and freelance) across Southern Africa, providing guidance, training, and feedback.Content Creation: Produce high-impact video stories—live and edited—for Reuters clients and our digital platforms, encompassing breaking news and in-depth features.Strategic Vision: Contribute to the development and execution of our regional news strategy, pitching original ideas and collaborating with text and photo teams to create a unified narrative.News Judgment & Execution: Demonstrate exceptional news judgment, rapid decision-making, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.Technological Proficiency: Remain at the forefront of video production technology and empower your team to adopt and utilize innovative tools.Team Collaboration: Effectively collaborate with colleagues across different teams, fostering a strong team spirit and culture.Safety & Operations: Ensure the safety and well-being of your team, particularly in challenging environments.About YouYou're a fit for the role of Senior Video Producer at Reuters if you have:A proven track record of leading and managing video news teams in a fast-paced broadcast, agency, or digital news environment.Exceptional news judgment, a keen eye for compelling visual storytelling, and a deep understanding of the Southern African news landscape.Ability to film, produce, edit, and write compelling video news stories.Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills. Experience developing teams through training and feedback is crucial.Experience covering large-scale events, ideally including experience working in challenging or hostile environments.Creativity, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.Proficiency in relevant video production software and technologies.Adherence to the highest journalistic standards, including Reuters' Trust Principles.Please Note: Completed applications must be submitted by Sunday 15th December 2024.
