Job ClassificationJob Family: Information TechnologyCareer Stream: IT OperationsLeadership Pipeline: Manage Self: ProfessionalFAIS AffectedJob PurposeTo manage the outcomes for all assigned testing tasks to achieve integrated end to end testing of an application/technology/solution and define the testing approach.Job ResponsibilitiesContribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. Staff surveys etc.).Achieve business strategy by participating and supporting corporate social responsibility initiatives.Identify opportunities to improve or enhance processes by recommending improvements to tools, policies, and procedures to add value to Nedbank.Add value to Nedbank by supporting the implementation of new processes, policies, and systems.Ensure information for test cases is correct by analysing, extracting, and designing test cases including non-functional requirements.Create test procedures using advanced level test plans.Ensure effective use of test environment by defining a controlled system testing environment as per project requirements.Specify tests using structured techniques (i.e. black box testing).Provide stakeholder feedback by writing test summary reports.Conduct static testing through applying testing rules and checklists.Prioritise test requirements through applying test effort and business risk principles.Create test cases and test plans by applying test standards and practices.Compile with risk standards by managing and documenting traceability between test cases and requirements.Ensure testing strategies are implemented and completed as per the agreed execution plan.Resolve work obstacles by implementing test process improvements.Mitigate risk through the creation of sets and by implementing testing policies.Ensure tests are completed according to plan by calculating test effort (i.e. planning, design, execution, and reporting using detailed work breakdown structures).Resolve issues by identifying and reviewing defects and ensuring defects are assigned accordingly.Comply with risk standards by logging incidents on relevant system and managing outstanding incidents.Ensure small test projects are delivered on time and within budget by planning the resourcing, estimation, work task scheduling, and monitoring output.Ensure relevant processes are followed by advising stakeholders on test projects and requirements.Enable improved test results through giving advice on systems, processes, and equipment.Ensure understanding of client needs through participation in peer reviews.Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by providing feedback.Ensure stakeholders are informed by conducting walk-throughs with the business regarding various processes.Enable consultation within the value chain supporting and depending on testing by establishing a network with peers.Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes impacting the role by reading relevant newsletters, websites, and attending sessions.Understand and embrace the Nedbank Vision and Values by demonstrating the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in the field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression through input and feedback from managers.Ensure personal growth and effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by completing all learning activities and obtaining certifications within specified time frames.People SpecificationEssential Qualifications - NQF LevelMatric / Grade 12 / National Senior CertificateAdvanced Diplomas/National 1st DegreesPreferred QualificationISEB test practitioner or equivalent or ISTQB advanced level certificateEssential CertificationsISTQB foundation or equivalent (ISEB)ISEB test practitioner or equivalent or ISTQB advanced level certificateMinimum Experience Level5-6 years in testing roles (minimum 24 months as a test analyst)Technical / Professional KnowledgeAdministrative procedures and systemsBanking knowledgeBanking proceduresBusiness principlesBusiness terms and definitionsCluster specific operationsData analysisGovernance, Risk and ControlsMicrosoft OfficeRelevant regulatory knowledgeRelevant software and systems knowledgeBusiness writing skillsProject ManagementTesting principles and processesSystem InterdependenciesIT Report WritingBehavioural CompetenciesApplied LearningCollaboratingCustomer FocusInitiating ActionWork StandardsManaging WorkTechnical/Professional Knowledge and SkillsPlease contact the Nedbank Recruiting Team at +27 860 555 566
