Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking highly talented and motivated Senior Technologist - Highways for employment based at their South African offices. The candidates will have the opportunity to work with a talented group on Highways related projects, including freeways, Highways, Provincial/State Routes, as well as Local Municipal Roads/Streets. The ideal candidate will be responsible and able to learn quickly on the job.
Technical Excellence:

Conducts assignments in the civil engineering field
Plans, organizes and manages complex projects
Makes recommendations on alternate solutions to engineering problems
Prepares and presents technical plans and reports
Institutes changes in methods, designs or equipment
May be Project leader and head smaller business unit and/or construction site
When possible, collects and analyses information from discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models.
Fully develops the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure the production of high-quality outputs by following project timelines.
Participates in the interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, including BIM spatial reviews (virtual walkthroughs and clash detection).
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, specifications, sketches, diagrams, specific discipline BIM models, drawings, reports and tender documents. Identifies discrepancies in results and proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered.
Performs work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Maintains and develops the highest level of technical skills and abilities, ensuring the quality of model production by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions. Coordinates with authorities for scheme approvals.

Client Relationship Management:

Begins to participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain/defend work, etc.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

8+ Years' experience after obtainment of Qualification
BTech or Advanced Diploma and professionally registered with ECSA
