Job Introduction:G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a Senior Technician based at our Head Office in Centurion, Gauteng and reporting to the Regional Technical Manager.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the Senior Technician plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.
Role Responsibility:Main Purpose of the Position Deliver technical services relating to the implementation, installation, and maintenance of technology contracts and projects. Assist with site surveys for new implementations and compile scope of work for hardware/software requirements. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations is maintained at all times in the delivery of technical services.
Effective management and administration of the technology contract to ensure sound financial performance Plan and manage the profitability of projects and SLA contracts with a focus on maintenance, sustainability, cost effectiveness, and labour.Contract Margin Management Billable hoursJob CardsCostTimelines/GoalsManage the contract cash flow and oversight of invoice documentation and accuracy of informationEffective management of staff Effective Organisation Proper allocation of staff to work flow and job requirements.Coordinate with Office around work requirementsMonitor daily tasksTrain and upskill subordinatesLeadership Staff motivation levelsEvaluate staff performanceEnsuring that acceptable standards of behaviour at work are maintained by all subordinate employees, as required by G4S's code of conduct and disciplinary code.Effective management of operations Coordinating the Maintenance/Project process flow and activities that have a direct/indirect impact on the outcome and success of contract/project.Plan and coordinate daily tasks and subordinates, with close monitoring of standards and hours.Client retention and customer service levels Ensuring that all required formal customer meetings are scheduled, attended, and minuted.Maintenance of positive customer relationshipsQuality Management/Ops Process management – adherence to quality standard Conduct and oversee quality controls and inspectionsEffective management of business development function New business development Identifying new business opportunities in the region's sphere of operations, as well as in terms of growth of business with existing customers.Health and Safety Participate in the design/development/review/implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each yearParticipate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talksReport all safety incidents to the relevant peopleDiscuss all safety incidentsFollow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/managementAttend safety education and refresher programsComply with safety policies and procedures at the workplaceDistribute safety information as and when requiredThe Ideal Candidate:Qualification and Experience Grade 12A valid Driver's LicenseFormal Technical Training advantageousElectronic Security Services/Maintenance experienceExtensive experience with respect to the implementation of the following systems:I.
