Recommended Qualifications:Academic (Degree or Dip) - Matric, FAIS Compliant (Short Term Insurance Qualifications at NQF Level 4)Functional Certificate Courses: Successfully passed RE5, Class of Business Commercial linesMinimum Other Training Required: Effective Time Management, Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power point) Email and Telephone Etiquette.Minimum Years of Formal & Informal Training/ Experience RequiredA seasoned Insurance Professional with in-depth understanding of various insurance products, industry regulations and risk management principles.Minimum 7 - 10 years relevant work experience in the short-term insurance industry, within a commercial underwritings space with technical insurance knowledge and strong client management and internal skills to ensure effective and compliant insurance solutions.
Strong analytical skills, communication (verbal and written) and an in-depth understanding of the insurance market, insurance products, regulatory regulations and risk management principles. Key Clients:Management and Directors; Clients, Internal Staff; Insurers, External Service Providers.Top 20 clients applying 80/20 principal within the following sectors:PrintingSecurityRetailPropertyHospitalityMedicalAutomotiveLogisticsMaritimeFarmingPERFORMANCE STANDARD / QUALITY STANDARDSAssist AE in obtaining prospective clients current insurance detailsOn request from AE, approach market for quotes complete comparisonAnalyze market feedback and provide recommendations to AEEnsure all relevant forms are completed and signed on receipt from AEMarket Analysis, keeping up to date with trends, changes in regulations including competitor activity to provide internal advice and recommendations.Strong communication skills (verbal and written) for interacting with internal team and clients.Analytical skills to analyze complex information, assess risk assisting AE in obtaining prospective clients current insurance detailsPrepare comparative spreadsheetCompile documentationProcess policy on business system, raise and provide invoicesComplete pack to AE for deliveryPrepare strategy Packs for pre-renewals 3 months in advance, including processing of required proposal forms to be submitted to clientsPrepare updated placing slips to approach the insurance market, to ensure all paperwork is documentation is accurate and compliant with regulatory requirementsBusiness development identifying opportunities for growth and cross-sell opportunitiesMarket analysis keeping up to date with trends, changes in regulation and competitor activitiesPolicy management overseeing administration of insurance policies, renewals, adjustments and claims.Applying insurance knowledge, analytical and communication skills, coupled with experience and industry knowledge ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.Draw claims experience and 3 years loss ratio reports, 6 weeks prior to renewalReview policy and check if renewal rules are applied correctlyOn receipt from Insurer apply their termsReview policy (electronic file) for all FAIS required documents and any other relevant documentation to the policyUpdate comparison on excel spreadsheetAssist AE with market exercise, where necessaryDraft additional comparison with market exercise informationAssist AE in negotiating renewal terms with InsurerProvide AE with renewal pack for discussion with clientAdvise AE of any outstanding info and/or documentation required from clientConfirmations:Cover confirmation to be processed immediately copy to AE, client, and InsurerDiarise, if there is outstanding informationProcess amendment directly if all information availableNotification of Interest:Receive request from Financial InstitutionsVehicle finance (notification of interest)Property finance (session document to note interest of financial institution)Process on the business systemSend confirmation letter to the financial institution cc the AEAmendments:Acknowledge receipt of amendment request advise AEObtain terms process endorsementEmail the amended schedule to the Insured, cc AE and InsurerCancellations:Acknowledge receipt of cancellation requestProvide request and retention sheet to the relevant AE for retentionIf not retained - AE needs to provide you with signed retention sheet which you must attach to your request for cancellationForward cancellation request with retention sheet to the manager for cancellationConfirm in writing the cancellation with the Client, forward confirmation to Insurer and cc AEMulti Claimants:Draw Multi-claimant report (claims experience)Analyse claims and make recommendations to AEApply corrective action, endorse policy accordingly on AEs advicesAdvise client cc AEAdvise InsurerGeneral:Complete daily diary itemsAction incoming mail daily (clear mailbox daily)Assist other members of department whenever possibleEffectively and efficiently upload and maintain electronic policy filesPerform adhoc duties as allocated from time to timeEffectively and efficiently maintain filing system (electronic and other)Timely Responses to email and telephonic messagesEnsure that accurate record is kept of all new matters received in the deptMaintaining professional behavior and work ethicDisplay personal accountability for own actions, quality of work and personal developmentEnsure that all deadlines are met, and that SLAs are adhered toEnsure all turnaround times and target dates are adhered toBe punctual, keeping to prescribed hours/ timekeeping
