Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RF) (Pty) Ltd in PotchefstroomThe main responsibilities of this Senior Technical Buyer position are to scan, analyse, and select suppliers for goods and services in order to negotiate and conclude multiyear supply contracts for the successful execution of the Business Plan.The Senior Technical Buyer is responsible for the procurement process, sourcing, RFQs, price evaluations, cost analysis, negotiations, and final procurement selection and qualification of suppliers. The Senior Technical Buyer is also responsible for the finalisation of Contracts/SLA's and the management thereof over the contract/SLA period.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESNegotiate and enter into multiyear cost-effective contracts with major suppliers in conjunction with Executive Manager Procurement and GM Supply ChainDetermine and ensure availability of strategic suppliers for specific specialised areasAchieve cost savings targets on Material, Capex, Non-Stock, Shipping, and ServicesPrepare and execute annual cost reduction strategies and Value Engineering ProjectsConduct regular commodity market research, identify procurement risks, and implement risk avoidance strategiesImplement specific Procurement Strategies based on technical & customer requirementsAct as Procurement Lead during the Strategic Sourcing ProcessCoordinate supplier clarification sessions and technical reviews with cross-functional teams and suppliersConduct Supplier Risk Assessments, Due Diligence, and Performance ManagementEnsure BBBEE procurement and supportWHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVEB Comm. / B Tech degree or equivalent qualification.Technical Qualification would be advantageous.5 years' procurement experience with at least 3-5 years at management level5 years' procurement experience in a Technical / Mechanical Environment5 years' material handling experienceStrong Commercial Orientation and Planning skills with a highly organised approachExcellent Negotiation and Communication SkillsAdvanced Computer Literacy (MS Office Packages and SAP)Ability to work independently, show initiative, and demonstrate good judgementGood Problem-solving skillsSound financial and technical background
